Saucy Walker was manufactured by Ideal from 1951 to 1955 and was quite popular with baby boomers. What made Saucy Walker appeal to little girls was the walking mechanism and was advertised as a walking doll. She also came with a grilled torso which had a crier inside and when moved she would cry. Saucy can be distinguished from most chubby dolls by her flirty eyes, which will move from side to side, and open and close as she walks. There were many imitation Saucy Walker dolls on the market made by various companies in the 1950’s. Saucy Walker and the imitation dolls ranged in height from 16 inches to 22-23 inches.

The types of clothing that Saucy Walker dolls wore were very similar to what little girls of that time would wear. Dresses with pinafores were quite popular and were a favorite outfit of Saucy Walker. Saucy also like to play and she could be found in jeans and blouse outfits also known as play togs. The doll clothes patterns on this page were made for the Saucy Walker dolls and are patterns from the 1950’s . You will find quite an assortment of styles and sizes for Saucy Walker dolls.
